Resident Engineer
Argus Consulting is seeking a Resident Engineer / Resident Construction Representative. The Resident Engineer is a mid-level role for engineers or construction managers who have gained foundational experience and are prepared to take on more independent responsibility. In this role, you will demonstrate a working knowledge of engineering standards and construction procedures and processes and apply skills to complete project tasks in the field with limited oversight.
You’ll play a critical role in leading communication, solving technical problems and monitoring/documenting daily activities and progress, acting as the “connector” between contractors, engineers, project managers, and clients.
What You’ll Do

Observe, monitor, and document daily construction activities in a full-time field assignment

Serve as the on-site Argus representative, coordinating with contractors and project stakeholders

Support look-ahead scheduling and daily activity planning

Develop a strong working knowledge of project drawings, specifications, testing requirements, and contract documents

Coordinate with Argus engineering staff to support RFIs, site visits, and issue resolution

Participate in construction coordination meetings, safety briefings, and client update meetings

Support quality assurance efforts, including scheduling and documenting third-party inspections as required

Assist with construction administration tasks such as RFIs, submittals, change orders, redlines, and document control

Support project management teams with budget tracking, contractor pay applications, and change management
