Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise and inspect civil and structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements, and contract documents.
- Monitor site progress, construction methodology, workmanship, and material quality.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the Building Control Act, relevant codes of practice, and project requirements.
- Review contractors' method statements, shop drawings, work procedures, and technical submissions.
- Monitor and inspect geotechnical and deep excavation works, including temporary earth retaining structures where applicable.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, client representatives, and relevant authorities on technical and site matters.
- Witness site inspections, testing, and quality control activities.
- Ensure contractors comply with workplace safety and health regulations.
- Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, site instructions, and supervision documentation.
- Identify and report construction issues, non-conformances, and potential project risks.
- Assist in resolving technical and site coordination issues during construction.
- Supervise and guide site supervision personnel, including Resident Technical Officers (RTOs) where required.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on construction progress and site-related matters.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification recognised in Singapore.
- Accredited as a Qualified Site Supervisor (QSS) under the Joint Accreditation Committee (JAC) of IES/ACES.
- Accredited as Resident Engineer (RE) under the IES/ACES accreditation framework.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supervising similar civil and structural works.
- Relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and deep excavation works.
- Good knowledge of Singapore construction regulations, codes of practice, and site supervision requirements.
