Resident Engineer (Mechanical)

Summary

Oversee construction and compliance for waste-to-energy and recycling facilities in Singapore, reviewing designs and enforcing technical standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Chief Resident Engineer, Qualified Person (Supervision), and Lead Resident Engineer in daily supervision and coordination duties
  • Enforce specifications, national regulations, local Authorities’ requirements, Singapore Standards and good practices
  • Attend site meetings and resolve technical issues with Contractors.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager and the Project Technical Specialists on the review and approval of design submissions including calculations and drawings for the mechanical and process elements of the Waste to Energy (WTE) facility, Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), Sludge Incineration Facility (SIF), and Food Waste Treatment Facility (FWFT) and ensure coordination with all disciplines.
  • Define inspection and special testing requirements and ensure coordination of those efforts on all contracts
  • Ensure inspection documentation fully complies with the Specification requirements and local Authorities’ requirements

Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree in Engineering or Certification of the proposed discipline role.
  • Registered as Resident Engineer (RE) with the Joint Accreditation Committee of the
  • Institution of Engineers Singapore / Association of Consulting Engineers Singapore as relevant.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in design and construction of large infrastructure and/or industrial projects, waste to energy plants, power plant projects, or waste/water management projects in Singapore is preferred but overseas/international experience will be considered as relevant.
