Resident Engineer (Tunnel)

Summary

Oversee civil and structural construction of tunnels and related infrastructure in Singapore, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with regulations while managing site teams and contractors.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Contractor is delivering high-quality work and maintaining good safety practices in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Attend all meetings related to the project including site, progress, variation, coordination, QAQC etc
  • Provide ongoing supervision for the construction of civil and structural works as needed, ensuring compliance with the project specifications, construction drawings, and the Building Control Act and Regulations.
  • Carry out supervision and inspection C&S works
  • Manage and supervise the Resident Technical Officers under his charge.
  • Coordinate with safety team and provide overview of WASH and aerodrome safety management systems and implementation of safe working practices on site.
  • Ensure all construction works will not impact or affect the operations of the client.
  • Ensure client’s emergency preparedness protocols are adhered to by the contractors during trial runs or actual emergencies.
  • Adhere to the shift duty roster assigned.
  • Undertake any other duties including administrative tasks related to the project as and when instructed by the SRE, OIC, or the Client.

Requirements:

  • Min 5 years of civil engineering experience of which at least 3 years shall be in supervision of major construction works deep excavation, drainage, pipe jacking, ground improvement, flexible/rigid aircraft pavement, viaduct, road/expressway works, geotechnical and deep excavation works
  • Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by PEB.
  • Accredited as a RE with IES
  • Accredited as a RE (Tunnel) with IES
  • Able to perform shift work.
