Mental Wellness Center Resident Support Professional
ROLE SUMMARY
The Resident Support Professional plays a key role in promoting the safety, stability, and wellbeing of clients within the Mental Wellness Center’s residential programs. This position provides direct care and supervision across licensed assisted residential facilities, supporting individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness. Core responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, supporting medication routines, and ensuring adherence to facility policies and procedures, licensing regulations, and organizational standards.
For mental health interns pursuing clinical licensure, this role also offers access to clinical supervision, and continued employment requires maintaining compliance with all applicable CA licensing board requirements.
CORE RESPONSIBILITES
Program Operations & Resident Experience
- Provide compassionate care and supervision to residents, ensuring safety, comfort, and a supportive living environment in our adult residential facilities.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including hygiene, meals, mobility, and medication oversight.
- Follow all facility protocols, licensing regulations, and organizational guidelines to ensure high quality service delivery.
- Monitor daily program needs and communicate operational concerns or recommendations to leadership.
- Support a respectful, recovery oriented, and inclusive environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Resident Support & Wellness Monitoring
- Provide trauma informed, person centered support to residents, encouraging autonomy, engagement, and wellbeing.
- Monitor and document resident activity, food intake, functional status, and psychosocial changes.
- Report changes in resident conditions promptly to supervisor(s) to ensure timely intervention.
- Utilize deescalation, problem solving, and boundary setting skills to support residents experiencing behavioral health challenges.
- Follow individualized service plans and tailor support to each resident’s needs and goals.
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity of care and smooth daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and external providers as needed.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and mission aligned team culture.
Documentation, Data, & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of resident status, services provided, and any changes in condition.
- Accurately document client status changes, including physical changes, medication reactions, psychosocial status changes, and behavioral changes.
- Record rehabilitation services and other required program data.
- Support reporting requirements, grant compliance, audits, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Ensure documentation and service delivery practices align with Mental Wellness Center standards and confidentiality requirements.
Community Engagement & Organizational Participation
- Participate in MWC’s meetings, trainings, outreach efforts, and community events as assigned.
- Collaborate with internal departments and community partners to support coordinated care and community wellness.
- Represent Mental Wellness in a professional and mission aligned manner.
