RESIDENT TECHNICAL OFFICER
Requirements:
- Tentative commencement of work is expected in October, the expected duration of the structural works is approximately One year, Project site is located at Sentosa.
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Civil & Structural Engineering from a recognized university, polytechnic or institution acceptable for C&S RTO accreditation in Singapore.
- Must be accredited as a C&S Resident Technical Officer with IES/ACES, or possess qualifications acceptable for IES/ACES C&S RTO accreditation.
- Relevant practical site supervision experience in structural works, preferably involving A&A works, hotel developments, existing buildings or complex renovation projects.
- Must have experience in demolition works, structural alteration works and strengthening of existing RC structures.
- Familiar with demolition sequencing, hacking, cutting, coring, slab/wall openings, temporary supports, propping works and protection of existing structures.
- Familiar with RC strengthening works, concrete repair, structural modifications and related C&S site supervision requirements.
- Able to carry out full-time site supervision for C&S works under the direction of the Qualified Person
- Strong knowledge of civil and structural details, working drawings, approved plans, method statements, risk assessments, local construction practices and site safety requirements.
- Conversant with Singapore building codes, local authority requirements.
- Able to maintain proper site progress records, inspection records, quality records and mandatory documentation for structural works.
Responsibilities:
- Provide full-time site supervision services for C&S works under the direction of the Qualified Person.
- Carried out site inspection and supervision to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with approved design, approved drawings, specifications and local authority requirements.
- Supervise demolition works, structural alteration works, A&A works, hacking, coring, cutting, slab/wall openings, RC strengthening works and structural modification works.
- Monitor demolition sequencing, temporary supports, propping works and protection measures to safeguard the existing structures during construction.
- Ensure that works are properly coordinated and carried out safely in accordance with approved method statements, risk assessments and temporary works requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely site progress records, inspection records, quality records and other mandatory documentation for structural works.
- Assist in identifying, reporting and following up on technical and engineering issues encountered on site.
- Monitor the progress and quality of structural works and highlight any non-compliance defects or deviations from approved drawings for follow-up action.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants and relevant parties to ensure proper execution of the C&S works on site.
