Resident Technical Officer (M&E)

Job Summary

Perform site supervision duties under BCA guidelines to ensure timely, quality execution of mechanical and electrical works. Coordinate contractors, monitor compliance with contract specifications and statutory requirements, and maintain accurate records to support project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site supervision activities to ensure works comply with contract specifications, drawings, and site instructions within allocated timeframes
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies and report findings to Officer-in-Charge (OIC)
  • Inspect quality of works, materials, and samples delivered on site; implement corrective actions for non-compliance and report issues to OIC
  • Prepare and monitor defect lists, ensuring all defects are rectified satisfactorily
  • Supervise works to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and approved plans, especially for structural and critical elements
  • Attend and document site, progress, variation, QAQC, and coordination meetings with accurate minutes
  • Resolve queries from main contractors and coordinate activities among multiple contractors
  • Inspect and assist in the handover process of completed works by other contractors
  • Maintain proper and updated records of all site works and activities
  • Coordinate all building and mechanical & electrical (M&E) services on site
  • Collaborate with the safety team to uphold maximum safety standards on site

Required competencies and certifications

  • Valid 2025 RTO (M&E) Certification accredited by IES
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as RTO (M&E)
  • Willingness and ability to work shift hours, including night shifts
