Residential Energy Sales Consultant
The Residential Energy Sales Consultant is responsible for converting ooba Power's inbound and referred lead flow into signed residential Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) customers, and for coordinating each customer's journey from initial contact through to full system commissioning and activation. This is predominantly an office-based, outbound telesales role: the Residential Energy Sales Consultant works leads generated through ooba Home Loans, Evo, and ooba Power's digital and in-person activation campaigns. Generating or sourcing additional leads of their own is not the primary focus of the role, though Advisors are encouraged to do so where the opportunity arises.
ooba Power is ooba Group's residential energy division, offering homeowners a Power Purchase Agreement that gives them access to discounted, green electricity with no upfront capital outlay, ooba carries the system, installation, maintenance, and performance risk, while the homeowner only pays for the electricity that they use.
The Residential Energy Sales Consultant plays a central role in converting ooba's trusted home loans relationship into a long-term energy customer relationship, and in managing that relationship well through the multi-step, multi-party fulfilment process.
Lead Management & Qualification
Receive and work leads generated through ooba Home Loans, Evo, and ooba Power's digital and in-person activation campaigns
Make outbound contact with leads promptly and consistently, and qualify them against ooba Power's eligibility and viability criteria
Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of lead status, contact history, and outcomes in the CRM
Sales & Contracting
Present and sell the ooba Power product to qualified leads, explaining the offer, savings, and process clearly
Manage objections and negotiate through to a signed PPA
Ensure all required customer documentation and contracting steps are completed accurately and on time
Feasibility & Site Coordination
Coordinate the desktop feasibility assessment for each signed customer
Arrange and coordinate the site visit required to confirm technical and commercial viability of taking on the customer
Manage and communicate any changes to scope, pricing, or viability that arise from the feasibility or site visit process
Installation, SSEG & AMI Coordination
Act as the customer's primary point of contact from signature through to installation
Coordinate the installation process with the EPC/installation partner, keeping the customer informed of progress and timelines
Coordinate the SSEG (Small-Scale Embedded Generation) application and approval process required for the installation
Coordinate the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meter installation required to activate the customer
Ensure every step of the installer's process is thoroughly followed and that all required documentation between the installer and ooba is completed and saved against the customer record — this keeps the installer accountable for its own work, rather than leaving gaps for ooba to remediate later
As the business scales, the installation, SSEG and AMI coordination will most likely be moved to a dedicated fulfilment team but until that is put in place it will remain the full responsibility of the Residential Energy Sales Consultant
Commissioning & Customer Activation
Follow the installation through to full commissioning
Confirm the customer is fully activated and that billing/monitoring is functioning correctly before handing over to ongoing account management
Resolve or escalate any issues that arise during the fulfilment process to keep the customer's installation on track
Ensure customer records and the configuration management database are fully up to date, and that the customer hand-over file is accepted and signed off by the customer
Request and drive the receipt of 5-star reviews from activated customers and actively promote customer advocacy and referrals
Activations & Events
Participate in ooba Power marketing activations and events from time to time, engaging prospective customers face-to-face
CRM & Reporting
Keep all relevant CRM records complete, accurate, and current
Provide regular reporting on pipeline, conversion, and fulfilment status to ooba Power management
