Residential Living Manager (62778)
Position Summary
Create a Home Where Students Thrive.
For many students, our Center is home — and you'll be the leader who makes it a safe, structured, and supportive one. As Residential Living Manager, you'll oversee the daily management of our residential living programs, lead a dedicated team, and shape the evening and non-class-hour experience that builds students' independent living and employability skills.
This is a leadership role for someone who blends genuine care for young people with sound judgment, strong management, and a drive to help students achieve, stay, and succeed.
Why Join Us? Make a Real Impact!
Job Corps is a transformative program that provides education, vocational training, and career readiness to young adults. In this role, you'll directly shape student retention, satisfaction, and success — leading the programs and people that help students grow into independent, employable adults. You may also serve as Acting Director in the Director's absence.
What You'll Do
Lead Residential Living Operations
Oversee the daily management of residential living programs, managing the non-class-hour environment and ensuring quality leadership and evening programming that enhances students' independent living and employability skills. Ensure Center facilities are organized, clean, safe, and conducive to student achievement, and help the Center meet or exceed DOL/Company performance goals.
Build & Develop Your Team
Supervise and manage the staff, programs, and activities of the Residential Living Department. Interview and recommend candidates for hire, evaluate performance, and coach, develop, and hold staff accountable. Coordinate staff coverage to keep student areas supervised, ensure adherence to rest and meal break requirements, partner with Human Resources to fill vacancies promptly, and provide required and supplemental training. Motivate and empower staff, recognize accomplishments, and proactively address performance concerns.
Ensure Safety & Structure
Own the Center's behavior management system during non-class hours to ensure the safety of staff and students. Provide high-quality supervision of the student population — taking swift, appropriate action and positively influencing behavior with respect and accountability. Deliver quality, structured non-class-hour activities including leadership, independent living skills, and special programs.
Represent, Collaborate & Uphold Integrity
Follow all integrity guidelines and ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive information and student data. Develop community linkages for education, employment, Career Technical Training, and Work-Based Learning, and build meaningful relationships with elected officials that promote a positive image of the Center and Job Corps. Communicate clearly, resolve problems with sound judgment, provide transportation as required, partner with staff across all departments, and accept direction from the Center Director / Manager On-Duty, including other duties as assigned.
