Residential Maintenance Technician

Brightline, an Ann Arbor-based maintenance & construction company, is looking for a motivated, experienced, and dependable Residential Maintenance Technician to assist with our growing portfolio of residential properties in the Ann Arbor area. The Residential Maintenance Technician helps to protect physical assets by conducting general maintenance repairs as well as preventative maintenance. We seek the right person to join us as we continue to add value to real estate and make our community a better place to be in.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and repairing a host of maintenance issues in both occupied and vacant residential units including those related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, finishes, appliances, and exterior grounds
• Completing unit turns/make-readies
• Collaborating with Leasing and Property Management teams
• Using Service Issues and schedules to establish priorities
• Monitoring repeat repairs and determining the best alternate courses of action
• Interacting with and providing excellent customer service to tenants
• Interfacing with company leadership, vendors, city inspectors, and other key stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with all fire/life/health/occupational safety procedures and standards
• Performing other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a maintenance technician
• Experience in all systems – HVAC, plumbing, electrical
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
• Acute attention to detail
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
