About the position...

The Residential Porter/Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the property's exterior grounds and common areas. This role ensures the communities remain attractive, well maintained, and welcoming for residents and guests. This position will support three of our multi-site teams on the East Shore in Harrisburg.

• Cleans/maintains all community amenities and surrounding areas, including but not limited to grills, mailboxes, walkways, breezeways, playgrounds, patios, pools, dog parks, and bus shelters.
• General watering, lawncare, weeding, tree trimming, and seasonal plant care as needed.
• Repair fences, replace lightbulbs, and complete other minor exterior repairs as they pertain to grounds and community appearance.
• Repairs downspouts, straighten splash blocks, and replace elbows as needed.
• Picks up and collects trash from all common areas of assigned communities.
• Empty and restocks pet waste stations weekly.
• Posts notices and late letters on doors as directed.
• Ensures tools and equipment are kept in good working condition and are properly taken care of.
• Assists with basic interior and exterior custodial duties as needed.
• Assists Maintenance Technicians & Leads with service-related tasks as needed.
• Lightly shovel snow, chips ice and applies ice melt as needed.

What we are looking for from you..

• Must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance
• High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required
• Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or property management experience is highly preferred
• Ability and experience to operate basic landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, power washers, etc.)
• Must be comfortable working outside in varying weather conditions throughout the year
• Basic technology proficiency, including but not limited to using smartphones daily
• Must be a strong team player and have the ability to work independently or with others on assigned tasks
• Must possess excellent attention to detail as well as organizational and time management skills
