Job Summary

The Resort Performance Analyst plays a critical role in optimizing resort operations by analyzing labor productivity, financial performance, and operational efficiency. This position delivers data-driven insights to support decision-making, enhance profitability, and ensure effective resource allocation. The Resort Performance Analyst analyzes payroll, overtime trends, and scheduling effectiveness while partnering with department leaders to align labor with guest demand forecasts. The analyst identifies opportunities for automation, process improvements, and cross-training to increase productivity and supports annual budgeting and forecasting processes. The analyst evaluates departmental performance against operational benchmarks and assists in implementing technology solutions that improve efficiency. The Analyst develops dashboards, reports, and data visualizations (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to communicate insights to leadership and provide real-time operational reporting to guide business decisions.

Required

Operate on-site at Massanutten Resort

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related field

3+ years of experience in financial analysis, operations analysis, or a similar role (preferably in the hospitality or resort industry)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools

Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) or other programming language

Familiarity in querying databases to build

Preferred

Experience with hospitality software (PMS, POS, workforce management systems)

Knowledge of industry benchmarks and key performance indicators

Background in revenue management or operational efficiency projects

Compensation

Salary Range: $47,000 - $62,000

Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor labor costs, staffing levels, and productivity metrics across resort departments
  • Develop workforce planning models to optimize labor efficiency while maintaining service quality
  • Analyze revenue streams, operating expenses, and profit margins to assess financial health.
  • Conduct variance analysis on budget vs. actual financial performance.
  • Assist departments in ROI models and business case development for capital investments
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to develop cost-reduction strategies.
  • Track and report on key financial KPIs, such as RevPor, TrevPor, and cost per occupied room.
  • Identify inefficiencies in processes and recommend improvements to increase guest satisfaction and profitability.
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify growth opportunities.
