POSITION

Pool Attendant

JOB DESCRIPTION The Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming pool environment for guests and members. This role supports daily pool operations by monitoring the pool deck, assisting guests with amenities, ensuring facility cleanliness, and enforcing pool rules to promote safety and a positive guest experience.

REPORTS TO Resort Entertainment & Recreation Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Service

  • Greet guests and members in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Provide information regarding pool hours, rules, and amenities.
  • Assist guests with towels, seating, umbrellas, and general poolside needs.
  • Address guest concerns or requests promptly and escalate issues when necessary.

Pool Area Monitoring

  • Observe the pool area to ensure compliance with facility rules and safety guidelines.
  • Notify lifeguards or supervisors of unsafe behavior or potential hazards.
  • Ensure proper use of pool furniture, equipment, and recreational items.

Facility Cleanliness

  • Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck, furniture, and surrounding areas.
  • Set up and organize lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables.
  • Collect used towels and distribute clean towels as needed.
  • Ensure trash receptacles are emptied and pool area remains presentable.

Equipment & Supplies

  • Monitor towel inventory and replenish as needed.
  • Set up and store pool equipment, floats, and recreational items.
  • Report damaged furniture or equipment to the supervisor.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all pool rules and facility policies in a professional manner.
  • Assist in emergency situations and follow established safety procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of weather conditions that may affect pool operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hospitality, recreation, or customer service experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain attentive and observant in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays.

Certifications

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat and sun exposure.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily outdoors in a pool or recreational facility environment. The position may involve exposure to sun, water, and varying weather conditions.

Must be able to pass a background check.
