Purpose of the Position:


The Resource Manager is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, performance management, and development of Installers at FundyPros. Working closely with Site Supervisors, this role ensures that the Installer team is effectively managed and deployed across various construction projects. The Resource Manager will be responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and continuously developing Installer talent, as well as maintaining workforce data to optimize productivity and performance.



Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Workforce Management & Scheduling 40%
  • Collaborate with Site Supervisors to schedule the Installer team based on project requirements.
  • Classify and organize the workforce by skill set, certifications, and safety training data.
  • Ensure all Installers are deployed efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Employee Development & Performance Management 30%
  • Partner with Human Resources to recruit, select, and onboard new Installers to meet workforce needs.
  • Provide regular feedback and performance management to ensure the team meets and improves productivity and quality standards.
  • Develop and support training opportunities for Installers to enhance their skills and competencies.
  • Reporting & Performance Metrics 20%
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, retention, employee engagement, and quality of work.
  • Compile and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Report on team performance to Area Manager, suggesting actionable improvements based on findings.
  • Ensure Satisfaction of all employees in keeping with Employee satisfaction Index.
  • Team Collaboration & Employee Experience 10%
  • Foster strong relationships with Installers to create a positive work environment and promote retention.
  • Work closely with Site Supervisors to gather feedback on Installer performance and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to an overall positive employee experience through strong communication and leadership.


Education and Expertise Required:


The Resource Manager position requires the incumbent to have:


  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with significant exposure to construction trades, workforce management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of construction trades, scopes of work, and project processes.
  • Proficiency in workforce planning, scheduling, and resource management principles.
  • Employee leadership and development experience with a focus on performance management and employee engagement.
  • Strong ability to collaborate, solve problems, and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with project management software and systems for tracking resources and performance metrics.
  • A growth mindset with a passion for developing others and a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Organizational skills to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.


Specific Competencies Required:


  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage the scheduling and development of a large team across multiple projects while maintaining high standards of performance.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work closely with various teams, including Site Supervisors, Human Resources, and Installers, to achieve project goals.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to provide direction, guidance, and feedback to a diverse team.
  • Problem-solving Skills: Ability to proactively address and resolve issues that may impact team performance or project timelines.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accurate workforce classification, time management, and performance reporting.


Decision-making:


  • The Resource Manager will make decisions based on pre-established resource management guidelines and collaborate with Site Supervisors and Human Resources. Decisions will be aimed at ensuring the effective deployment of Installers and optimizing performance in alignment with company goals.

Safety Requirements:


  • The Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring that Installers adhere to safety standards, including using the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all relevant safety protocols on job sites. Regular safety training and compliance checks are also part of the responsibilities.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:


  • The role primarily involves office work but will require occasional visits to job sites. The Resource Manager may be required to walk or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift materials as needed.

Staff Development and Leadership:


  • The Resource Manager works closely with the Area Manager to implement resource management strategies. The role involves managing a team of Installers but does not require direct supervision of other managerial staff. The Resource Manager is expected to continuously develop their leadership skills and support the professional growth of the Installer team.
