Respiratory Therapist (Nights)

Oneida Health is actively seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join its Hospital Respiratory Department. This is primarily a night shift position but could occasionally involve working other shifts per department need. In addition, while there is some flexibility, the position requires working every other weekend. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will assess, treat and care for patients with breathing disorders, reporting directly to the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, ensuring the highest levels of patient safety and experience.

****$10,000 sign on bonus paid in 4 payments over 3 years****

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintain, inspect, clean, and test respiratory equipment as needed.

· Be familiar with the technical aspects of the equipment used by the department and apply them to different situations in the clinical setting.

· Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, providing appropriate disease management techniques.

· Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess patient condition.

· Keep accurate and complete records.
