Respiratory Therapy Aide
The Respiratory Therapy Aide assists licensed Respiratory Therapists in providing compassionate, patient-centered care through delegated patient care activities, respiratory support functions, and operational assistance. This position promotes safe and efficient patient care through collaboration with therapists, nurses, providers, patients, and families while maintaining competency in assigned responsibilities and adhering to established policies and procedures.

Provides delegated patient care and respiratory support activities, offering support to licensed Respiratory Therapists, including assisting with activities of daily living, bathing and general hygiene, patient positioning and transfers, obtaining approved patient measurements, assisting during tracheostomy-related care, supporting airway clearance activities, and preparing patients for respiratory procedures and treatments. |

Communicate effectively with members of the Respiratory Therapy team and other members of the patient’s healthcare team by reporting patient observations, equipment concerns, changes in patient condition, and other pertinent information during shift handoff and throughout the workday. |

Maintains respiratory equipment and a safe patient care environment by transporting respiratory equipment, cleaning and organizing respiratory equipment, stocking respiratory supplies, ensuring equipment readiness, maintaining patient care areas, and removing unnecessary clutter from the clinical environment. |

Documents assigned patient care activities, vital signs, patient observations, respiratory equipment checks, and other approved information in the Electronic Health Record according to departmental policies and competency requirements. |
