Respite Program Support Professional - OPWDD Day Program
Shifts: Tuesday and Wednesday 2pm - 7:30 pm and Saturday 8:30am - 4:30 pm
Role Summary: Respite Support Professional will ensure high-quality service delivery that promote person centered, meaningful leisure skills and advocacy for people served in People’s Arc Respite Services. While most respite services are given at a People’s Arc location in the early evenings and weekends, some respite services are provided in the people’s home, including overnight hours.
Role Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of advocacy and recreational resources and systems
- Valid NYSDL
Role Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with people receiving services, their families to develop and implement programs that promote person centered, meaningful leisure skills, independence skill building and well-being for people served by People’s Arc to enhance their quality of life.
- Advocates for the needs of people receiving services within People’s Arc, outside human services providers and the broader community.
- Collaborates with community organizations, service providers, and stakeholders to enhance the network of support available to people on their caseload and their families.
- Provides transportation for the person served to leisure activities, medical appointments and other transportation as needed.
- Maintains all trainings and certifications.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, organizational policies, and best practices in service delivery.
