Dagenham | Repairs and Maintenance | £55,000, £60,000 (DOE) | Permanent, full time, 36 hours
BD Group is hiring a Responsive Repairs Manager to lead our responsive repairs service in Dagenham, managing a team of Technical Supervisors, trade operatives and engineers to deliver a right-first-time service residents can rely on. Internally this role is also known as Service Delivery Manager (Responsive Repairs), same job. Candidates who are immediately available are welcome to apply, though this isn't essential.
BD Group was created by the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham to drive positive economic, environmental and social change. We deliver repairs, cleaning and school catering for public and private sector clients across London and the South East. Around 650 of us work from The Cube, on the LondonEast-UK site, which BD Group owns and manages, five minutes from the district line. The site is home to cutting-edge scientific establishments and is currently going through a period of regeneration, including the development of a new Eastbrook Film Studios.

What you'll do
- Lead the team, hitting and beating KPIs
- Own the customer experience: queries, complaints, feedback
- Manage risk registers, supply chain and contractor relationships
- Control costs and commercial performance on contracts up to £5m
- Report on performance, budgets and targets; step in for the Head of Service when needed
- Experience managing responsive repairs in a commercial R&M contractor environment
- A track record delivering £5m+ programmes of work, on time and on budget
- HNC (or equivalent) in building, plus a related degree or housing management qualification
- RICS, CIOB or similar professional membership
- Full clean UK manual driving licence (some travel across the borough required)
