Bretton Woods is a private golf and recreation center in the Germantown/Darnestown/Poolesville area that offers food and beverage services in multiple areas on our beautifully landscaped 269 acres. This position will be filled by a person that can work indoors, outdoors, evenings, weekends, and summer holidays. We cross train all F & B staff to be capable of providing table side service in the restaurant, on the outdoor patios, and at our pool snack bar.

As a host you will create memorable member experiences. You will be a member of a cohesive team that supports each other’s success, you will work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment to provide our members with an exceptionally distinctive dining experience before they even order food!

Reports to: Clubhouse Manager, Lead Server

Supervises: None

Requirements and Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate on the telephone while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for multiple hours.
• Able to bend, kneel, and lift items frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Must be upbeat, energetic, and well mannered.
• Must have reliable transportation to work.
• Must be able to work weekends.
• 16+ age requirement.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for timely and efficient greeting the club’s members, their families, and guests.
• Knowledge and understanding of guests’ needs and preferences on seating.
• Ability to work as part of a team from kitchen to dining room.
• Anticipate member and guest needs, remaining a step ahead with continuous service.
• Take ownership of situations in dining areas that create positive experiences.
• Maintain a professional appearance and wear the required uniform; you are a representative of Bretton Woods.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Lift, push, pull, carry up to 50lbs.
• Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Repetitive motion.
