Position Summary
As a Server, you will play a key role in creating a memorable dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate is personable, attentive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment while providing outstanding customer service. Previous serving experience is preferred but not required for candidates with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide exceptional hospitality from arrival to departure.
- Present menus and confidently explain Nigerian dishes, ingredients, spice levels, and beverage options.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system promptly.
- Deliver food and drinks efficiently while ensuring order accuracy and presentation standards.
- Check on guests throughout their dining experience and respond quickly to requests or concerns.
- Upsell menu items, beverages, and specials to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Process guest payments accurately using cash, credit cards, and electronic payment methods.
- Maintain clean and organized tables, dining areas, and service stations throughout each shift.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff, hosts, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous restaurant serving experience preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service and guest engagement abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and strong work ethic.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately and make payments.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
- Must possess a valid Texas Food Handler Certificate or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
