Job Summary

As a Retail Assistant at Twigly’s, you will manage daily store operations and deliver a positive customer experience through efficient service, merchandising, and store upkeep.

Responsibilities

• Operate cashier and POS systems accurately to process cash and electronic payments
• Assist customers with friendly, efficient service and respond to their needs
• Upsell and recommend products, promotions, and offers to increase sales
• Replenish merchandise and maintain well-stocked, attractive shelves
• Conduct regular stock-taking and inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels
• Monitor inventory and report low-stock or out-of-stock items promptly
• Check product expiry dates regularly and manage short-dated or expired products appropriately
• Apply First Expiry, First Out (FEFO) product rotation to maintain product freshness
• Maintain store cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the shift
• Sweep, mop, and clean floors, counters, shelves, and other store areas as needed
• Keep the store organized and presentable at all times
• Assist with receiving, checking, arranging, and storing incoming deliveries
• Ensure price tags are accurate and products are neatly displayed
• Support store opening and closing procedures effectively
• Perform other reasonable retail and store-operational duties as assigned

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant retail experience preferred
• Experience in convenience stores, supermarkets, minimarts, or similar retail environments advantageous
• Comfortable handling cashier duties, stocking, inventory management, and store housekeeping
• Customer-focused with good communication skills
• Able and willing to perform hands-on duties including cleaning, mopping, stock replenishment, and moving merchandise
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and Public Holidays when rostered
• Flexibility to work at either Twigly’s Lentor Modern or Marine Parade outlet depending on operational needs
• Responsible, punctual, and able to work independently
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned duties
