About the Role:
As an AVP Bank Manager, you will oversee the full operations of our Middleville and Caledonia retail banking offices, with direct responsibility for branch performance, employee development, and customer satisfaction. You’ll play a critical role in driving branch profitability through community engagement, client acquisition, and team leadership. This role requires a hands-on approach to coaching, problem-solving, and delivering excellent service across all functions.

What You Will Do:
Manage and coach employees, organize and direct activities, maximize branch profitability, provide high level of quality customer service and has overall daily operational responsibility for the performance of the office location.
Participates in the selection, training and development of assigned staff through positive coaching; completes and conducts performance reviews; acts as the final authority for basic issue resolution at office level. Works with staff on individual career goals as defined by the Career Path.
Oversees organization of branch(s) and digital sales, operations and service processes and procedures to maximize customer service, staff productivity and operational efficiencies.
Ensures staff compliance with regulations, requirements, and procedures; ensures staff follows operational and security policies and procedures.
Attracts, develops and maintains profitable, multi-product relationships with individuals, small businesses and other organizations within their respective communities.
Responsible for business development and market growth. Calling on prospective and existing customers, along with Center of Influences (COI) to develop and expand new and existing business/personal relationships.
Initiates and/or collects more complex consumer loan applications; interviews loan applicants; forwards loan applications and appropriate supporting documentation for review. Understands small business requests requiring analysis of basic business financial and business structures.
Works with regional bank manager to establish, achieve and/or exceed branch performance and personal production goals; ensures staff members meet or exceed established individual/branch sales and the Community Outreach Goals (CRA).
Actively participates as a leader in community service projects and events. Represents the bank in local community organizations and activities. Promotes and upholds the bank's commitment to community engagement.
Manages cost effectiveness of the branch; maximizes profitability.
Reviews, audits, modifies and/or prepares a variety of operational and financial reports and general correspondence within required timeframes.
Receives and resolves routine customer issues and inquiries, including online customer responses/surveys. Works with a regional bank manager when necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent of working experience.
3+ years of sales experience, preferably in a retail banking environment.
2+ years of management experience, or 3+ years in a Team Leader or Assistant Manager position.
Advanced knowledge of key banking operations and security policies, practices and procedures.
Advanced knowledge of effective customer service methods and practices.
Advanced ability to meet and/or exceed established sales, operational, business development calling, and CRA goals.
Advanced ability to manage, coach, and lead others to achieve desired results.
Advanced ability to provide solutions/resolution to a wide variety of customer service situations.
Facilitate the introduction and delivery of integrated IB solutions with minimal support.
The ability to be a subject matter expert through development and experience to mentor, to coach, and to teach coursework.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to present to various group sizes.
Strong sales skills in a retail environment.
Adhere to all applicable regulatory compliance and personnel policies in the fulfillment of the specific duties of the position, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Confidentiality, Information Security, and Ethical Standards. Completes all online compliance and regulatory courses.
