RETAIL Executive
Overjoyed is looking for a friendly, responsible and proactive Retail Executive to join our team. You will be part of our retail and e-commerce operations, helping customers discover the right art, craft, stationery and creative products while ensuring that both our physical store and online orders are handled efficiently.
The role involves serving customers, providing product recommendations, handling sales transactions, replenishing and arranging merchandise, maintaining product displays, picking and packing e-commerce orders, and preparing orders for delivery or collection.
As Overjoyed carries a wide range of art and creative products, you will be expected to develop good product knowledge and be comfortable learning about different materials, tools and brands. You may also assist with workshops, events, product demonstrations and other activities organised by Overjoyed.
We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with people, takes pride in their work and is willing to learn. An interest in art, crafts, stationery or creative activities will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Provide friendly and helpful customer service in-store
Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products
Operate the POS system and handle sales transactions accurately
Maintain product displays and ensure shelves are neat, well stocked and properly labelled
Receive, check, price and arrange incoming stock
Assist with stock counts and inventory management
Pick products accurately for e-commerce orders
Check picked items against customer orders to ensure the correct products and quantities are packed
Pack online orders securely and appropriately for delivery
Prepare parcels for courier collection and customer self-collection
Process and organise e-commerce orders in a timely manner
Assist with returns, exchanges and order-related enquiries when required
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the retail and packing areas
Develop knowledge of Overjoyed's products, brands and services
Assist customers with product enquiries and basic product usage information
Support workshops, events, product demonstrations and promotional activities
Work closely with the retail and operations team to ensure smooth daily store and e-commerce operations
Perform other reasonable duties related to retail and e-commerce operations when required
Requirements
Minimum 1–2 years of retail, customer service or e-commerce experience preferred
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Friendly, approachable and comfortable speaking with customers
Responsible, punctual and able to work independently
Willingness to learn about art materials, craft products and stationery
Able to handle multiple tasks in a busy retail and e-commerce environment
Good attention to detail, especially when picking orders and handling stock
Basic computer skills
Able to work weekends and public holidays when required
Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle stock
Good to Have
Interest or experience in art, crafts, design, stationery or creative activities
Previous experience in an art, craft, stationery or lifestyle retail environment
Previous e-commerce fulfilment experience, including picking, packing and preparing parcels
Experience using POS, e-commerce or inventory management systems
Experience assisting with workshops, events or product demonstrations
Basic knowledge of art materials and their applications
