First Hawaiian Bank is seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Retirement Benefits Operations Specialist to join our Wealth Management Service Center team. The Retirement Benefits Operations Specialist I is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and managing participant and pensioner records with a high level of accuracy to ensure the timely and compliant processing of retirement and pension transactions. The role supports multiple retirement plan types, including Trust Retirement Benefits (TRB), Institutional Services Division (IASD) Plans, and Charitable Gift Annuities (CGA) accounts—and requires strict adherence to Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) regulations, established operational controls, and reporting standards. The Retirement Benefits Operations Specialist I works closely with Plan Administrators, Trust Account Administrators and their Middle Office team, and external service providers to ensure seamless plan operations, accurate contribution posting, proper benefit disbursements, and high‑quality client service.

The position also carries dual‑control responsibilities to safeguard data integrity and provides operational coverage as needed to maintain uninterrupted workflow.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $19.00-$28.50/hour; commensurate with experience. The level of the role will be determined by the Hiring Manager at the time of offer.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 2-year associate degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience with basic accounting functions and/or pension and contributions processing.
  • 1 year of experience in an administrative, data entry, customer support, or office-based role.
  • Knowledge of retirement plan administration, pension processing, and ERISA regulations.
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Experience with trust accounting systems and pension administration platforms.
