Ambassador educates the public on Singapore’s beverage container recycling scheme, assists with reverse vending machines, and ensures smooth on-site operations.

Role Overview

Return Right Ambassador will be deployed at designated Reverse Vending Machine (RVM) locations to support public engagement during operational hours. The role involves educating residents on the Beverage Container Return Scheme (BCRS), guiding users on correct use of the RVMs, and ensuring smooth on-site operations.

The Beverage Container Return Scheme aims to:

a) Increase the recycling rate of beverage containers and reduce the amount ofwaste disposed of as well as carbon emissions; and

b) Raise consumer awareness on the importance of recycling and encourage good recycling practices.

The Scheme will also aggregate clean and high-quality recyclables which can be made into new products.

Under the Scheme, a 10-cent refundable deposit will be applied on all pre-packaged beverages in plastic and metal containers ranging from 150 millilitres to 3litres. The deposit will be fully refunded when customers return empty plasticor metal beverage containers at designated return points, including reverse vending machines.

Responsibilities:

  • Educate members of the public on identifying eligible BCRS containers
  • Guide residents on the correct use of Reverse Vending Machines
  • Encourage proper recycling behaviour and answer basic public queries
  • Monitor RVM usage and flag operational issues to supervisors or vendors
  • Maintain a positive, approachable, and neat appearance at all times
  • Ensure the deployment area remains tidy and safe

Requirements:

  • Able to commit for the full contract duration
  • Willing to work evenings and/or weekends, with flexibility to accommodate last-minute schedule changes based on deployment requirements
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods in public-facing environments
  • Comfortable with travelling as locations are determined based on operational requirements
  • Punctual and committed

Working Hours: 5 Days Work Week (Mondays-Sundays) 9am to 6pm

Contract Period: 30 August/6 September to 31 December 2026

Salary: $15/hr
