Description
The Mobile Solutions team located in Irvine is home to Skyworks' design center for RF front-end solutions, power amplifiers, switches and controllers for GSM, GPRS, EDGE, WLAN and WiMAX applications. We have a challenging opportunity for a university student available for a 6-month Co-op starting in January 2027. As an RF Design Validation/Testing Co-op student, you will apply sound engineering skills to a variety of task and project assignments in the area of electronics, design engineering, and semiconductor component test development.
Responsibilities
- You will support RF test evaluation of RFIC's and multichip modules.
- You will perform RF tests, evaluate and summarize results, and present data to design engineers.
- You will also be involved in the design evaluation, simulation and debugging of RF switches, Filters, Couplers, PA's, LNA's and FEM's.
Required Experience and Skills
- Must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor or Master Degree’s program, and must be returning to school after the completion of this Co-Op (will not consider graduated students)
- Must work onsite January - June 2027
- Requires background in RF/microwave design. Knowledgeable in RF testing and RF equipment setup.
- The person should understand RF parameters and be able to communicate effectively. Knowledge in RF parameters (insertion loss, return loss, harmonics, IMD, IIP2/3, VSWR, NF, etc.) is an asset
- RFIC Design and Simulation experience will be a plus
- Experience in using RF equipment such as oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer, RF sources
- Proficient in data processing and presentation tools such as Matlab, MS Excel and PowerPoint. Good data summary and presentation skills are desired
- Strong proficiency in Excel and data organization
- The student should be a self-starter and enjoy being hands-on
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
