Rigger / AV Tech
Position Overview
The Rigger / AV Technician role is responsible for the safe installation and operation of rigging elements required within the Phoenix Convention Center and other local hotel venues. When not working on rigging responsibilities you will be assisting with setting, operating, and striking audio, video and lighting equipment, and floor coverage as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Regional Rigging Manager and Rigging Leads to safely and professionally manage and service all rigging-related business at multiple properties.
Manage and maintain rigging inventory.
Supervising and installing all suspended items by the parameters and weight/tension limits set forth by the venue property.
Ensuring that installations are completed without damage to the building.
Ensuring all rigging is done safely and professionally, using only practiced rigging methods.
Travel to local properties for rigging needs. Facilitating rigging installation for events at AVC local venues.
When not fulfilling rigging responsibilities, set, operate, and strike audio-visual equipment.
Other duties assigned by the Rigging manager and/or Operations Manager.
Job Qualifications
- Two or more years’ rigging experience in convention centers, arenas, and/or large scale hotels.
- One or more years working experience setting up audio visual equipment in a hotel or convention center environment
- Ability to work well with team members.
- Scheduling flexibility based on business needs including evenings and weekends.
- Professional attitude with co-workers and clients.
- Footwear meeting ASTM F2413 standards.
- OSHA 10, Forklift Certification, MEWP Certification preferred.
- Ability to satisfy all PCC background-screening for security access.
