Project Manager – Theatrical Rigging
The Opportunity
Theater Outsource is recruiting a Project Manager for a leading entertainment-rigging, design, fabrication, and installation company in the Los Angeles area.
This role is ideal for someone with direct theatrical rigging project-management experience who enjoys owning projects from planning through fabrication, installation, closeout, and client training. Experience supporting theme parks, museums, or other complex entertainment environments is a plus.
What You’ll Do
Manage multiple theatrical rigging and entertainment-technology projects simultaneously.
Own project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, deliverables, and project documentation.
Lead planning meetings and coordinate internal teams, clients, engineers, contractors, vendors, and installers.
Track project progress, identify risks early, and adjust plans to keep work on schedule and within budget.
Communicate project status, key decisions, challenges, and next steps clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
Coordinate design, fabrication, installation, project turnover, closeout, and client training.
Support a collaborative, solutions-focused project environment.
What You Bring
Proven experience managing theatrical rigging projects or closely related entertainment-technology installations.
Strong understanding of theatrical rigging equipment, fabrication, field installation, and construction/project-management fundamentals.
Demonstrated ability to manage scope, budget, schedule, and multiple active projects at once.
Strong organizational, written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills.
Comfort using project-management tools and Microsoft Office.
A practical, team-oriented approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
