Risk Control Officer

"THE JOB AT A GLANCE
You will be responsible for maintaining, advising on and auditing the Risk, Safety and Environment programs, as
implemented and managed by the Plant."

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Conducting Risk, health, safety and Environmental program evaluations and audits at the Unit.

- Manage and maintain the ISO 14001 system

- Achieving external audit target scores.

- Ensuring the respective statutory appointments are in place.

- Follow - up action plans, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

- Environmental evaluations, advising and audits conducted with approved consultant at Manufacturing Unit.

- Interfacing with Insurers and Insurance aspects.

- Monitoring, reporting and trend evaluation of Organisational LTIFR system for the Unit (monthly)

- Ensuring timely submission of monthly Risk and Environmental reporting.

- Organising/directing of HAZLOC studies from time to time at the Unit.

- Ensuring all required GMR2 appointments at the Unit are in place.

- Preparation of Annual Risk budget and management of same

- Management of personnel PPE and procurement of same

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:

Key Professional Competencies

- Core knowledge - Sound knowledge of the OSH Act and Regulations pertaining to the industry, sound knowledge of the Railway safety Act and Regulations

- Sound knowledge of the National Environmental Management Act and regulations.

- Key foundational competencies

- Academic - Analytical and good attention to detail

- Good computer skills

- Relevant tertiary qualification backed up by sound working experience & exposure to various manufacturing initiatives.

- Leadership - Owning it! Able to work in corporate environment and ability to take responsibility in the event of an accident.

- Personal effectiveness - Effective communication, self - motivated and able to work without supervision and high levels of personal discipline.

EXPERIENCE

Function -+ 5 Year Risk Management experience

Industry - FMCG WILL BE AN ADVANTAGE
