RLC Project Engineer
Summary
On-site engineer inspects and ensures HVAC installations meet technical standards, corrects errors, and documents compliance for Carrier’s air-conditioning projects in Malaysia.
Role Purpose:
- Frequently inspecting active Air-Conditioning installation projects, the role ensure that every unit is installed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's installation manual and technical requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- Site Inspection & Quality Assurance:
(Conduct frequent visits to all ongoing Air-Conditioning installation sites)
- Installation Process Compliance:
(Use detailed checklists to systematically audit each installation phase-from rough-in to
commissioning)
- On-the-Spot Correction & Installation Guidance:
(When an installation error or poor workmanship is discovered, halt the non-compliance work,
explain the correct method referencing the manual, and supervise the immediate
rectification)
- Documentation & Reporting:
(Document every site visit with comprehensive digital reports, including geo-tagged
photographs, installation check-sheet, non-conformance logs and corrective action taken)
- Stakeholder Communication:
(Inform project managers, service supervisors and the installation contractor’s team lead
daily about site findings)
- Pre-Commissioning Verification:
(Before system start-up, perform a final inspection to confirm all issues are resolved)
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC or related technical field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of hands-on field experience in Residential Air-Conditioning and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) System on installation, commissioning or quality inspection.
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Words & PowerPoint)
- Strong customer focus, sense of urgency, good communication skills
