Summary

Oversee Preop/PACU/OR flow at a Level I Trauma Center, coordinate staff assignments, ensure high-quality patient care, and act as a clinical resource for the surgery team.

Where You’ll Work

The RN Clinical Coordinator provides operational oversight for the Surgery Center at St. Anthony Hospital, managing patient flow across the 36-bed pre-op unit, 12-bay PACU, 17 OR suites, and the endoscopy department. In this leadership capacity, you will determine daily staff assignments, schedule upcoming shifts, and coordinate with the lead Anesthesiologist to maximize case flow and departmental efficiency. The role involves communicating case changes, coaching staff to build clinical confidence, and holding the team accountable to hospital policies and professional standards. You will serve as a key resource for the Manager and Director, assisting in the development of educational programs and departmental practices. Additionally, you will provide hands-on support across the perioperative area as needed, including assisting with room turnovers and ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated to meet daily operational demands.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model. Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards. To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with exceptional clinical skills, strong leadership potential, superior communication and collaboration abilities, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practice, quality patient care, and a supportive team environment.

  • Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data.
  • Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome.
  • Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift.
  • Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met.
  • Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care. Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

We are offering a $20,000 Sign on bonus in addition up to $10,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.

Schedule: 40hr/wk-Days- Variable shifts/days of the week per unit volume/need. TBD with Unit manager during interviews.

No call required- May need to cover for staff on occasion if needed.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or by endorsement
  • One (1) year of clinical RN experience.
  • RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Nursing Specialty Certification
  • Previous PACU experience or strong clinical background

  • Previous PACU/ICU/ED experience
  • Previous leadership or Charge experience highly preferred
