Work Schedule: The work schedule for each labor category is as follows: Scheduled

shifts are normally 12 hours in duration allowing a 30 minute lunch and shift change:

0600 – 1800, 1800 – 0600 or 1100-2300 Sunday through Saturday. Shifts will cover

weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Employees are to remain on shift until appropriate

shift change is complete for adequate patient safety handoff. Emergency room shifts

generally work (3) 12 hour shifts one week and (4) 12 hour shifts the next. But schedules

may vary to accommodate schedule changes or patient demand. Nurses must arrive for

each shift well rested with a minimum 8-hour rest from any previous shifts. All attempts

will be made to afford the HCW a minimum of 14 days notification when rotating from

day-shift to night-shift/night-shift to day-shift, however will depend on the needs of the

department.

Duties: The duties for the HCW are as follows:

Emergency Services Registered Nurse shall assess patients, including the ability to assess/evaluate telephonically and possess ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.

Shall perform/assist with procedures such as endoscopic procedures, manometry, conscious sedation, prepping patient for procedures and recovering patients post procedure, bladder catheterizations, pulse oximetry, oxygen administration, EKGs, and other clinic specific procedures, in accordance with established protocols.

Ensure proper documentation and coding of procedures and treatments.

Shall only release medical information obtained during the course of this contract to other MTF staff involved in the care and treatment of that individual patient.

Possess basic knowledge in management and daily operation of an emergency department servicing a large population of patients with a variety of healthcare needs and illnesses. ER nurse shall arrange for procedures and perform telephone follow-up, as appropriate.

Shall ensure medication/supplies are replenished.

Must possess basic knowledge of emergency procedures in order to react promptly and appropriately to provide effective care during emergency situations, respiratory or

cardiac arrest.
