Description

Hinds LifeCare, one of the most well-known and well-respected nonprofit agencies in California’s Central Valley and a pioneer in the practice of hospice and palliative care, is seeking a RN Float to join our team.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about our mission. Someone who is driven to provide the best care to patients and families during those vulnerable and emotional final days, and someone who will carry that supportive care to families and loved ones left behind.

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse - Float Nurse provides skilled nursing services to patients served by Hinds LifeCare. The registered professional nurse receives direction and supervision from the Clinical Manager and Director of Hospice Operations. This position functions as a flexible clinical resource floating between departments to support staffing needs, admissions, routine visits and on-call coverage while ensuring high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care.

Float nurse responsibilities:

  1. Float between hospice departments, service areas, teams, and care settings as assigned.
  2. Adapt quickly to varying patient populations, caseloads, and workflow requirements.
  3. Provide staffing coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, call-outs, and census fluctuations.
  4. Support admissions, routine visits, continuous care, inpatient care, and on-call services as needed.
  5. Maintain flexibility regarding schedules, assignments, and geographic coverage areas.

Why Hinds LifeCare:

A mission-driven organization and a pioneer in hospice care, Hinds LifeCare seeks to uphold the dignity and ease the suffering of the terminally ill while supporting their loved ones and those who are grieving. Our vision is to be recognized for excellence in compassionate end-of-life care and specialized grief support services, accessible to all. We provide a compassionate presence, pursue excellence, act ethically, professionally, and with hope.

As a member of the Hinds LifeCare team, you’ll be part of an organization with a long history of recognition for excellence and compassion. Hospice work in any position – from medical to clerical -- can be demanding. But hospice work is rewarding, especially for a person with the dedication required to rise to the challenges of end-of-life care, regardless of the position they work.

Hinds LifeCare is Joint Commission accredited and was recently recognized by Fresno’s Marjaree Mason Center as its Leading Business for 2023.
