At Uvalde Memorial Hospital, strong nursing leadership is essential to providing safe, compassionate, and efficient care around the clock. We are seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor to provide hospital-wide leadership, clinical support, and operational oversight during assigned shifts.

As the House Supervisor, you’ll be a trusted resource for nursing staff and hospital departments, helping teams navigate staffing needs, patient flow, emergencies, and day-to-day operational challenges. This is an opportunity to combine your clinical expertise with leadership and decision-making skills while making an impact across the entire hospital.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Provide leadership and support to nursing staff across hospital departments during assigned shifts.

  • Monitor staffing levels and skill mix to help ensure patient care needs are safely and effectively met.

  • Serve as an administrative resource for hospital departments after regular business hours.

  • Coordinate staffing adjustments, resource allocation, and patient flow based on hospital needs.

  • Facilitate communication among nursing teams, physicians, departments, and other healthcare professionals to support continuity of care.

  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide hands-on assistance with complex cases and high-acuity patients when needed.

  • Respond to Code Blue and other emergency situations, supporting clinical teams during rapid-response events.

  • Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to support appropriate bed utilization and hospital capacity.

  • Conduct hospital rounds to monitor patient safety, quality of care, and the overall environment of care.

  • Help ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.

  • Investigate and document incidents, unusual occurrences, and complaints and assist with appropriate follow-up.

  • Manage and allocate staffing, equipment, and other resources to support patient care.

  • Make staffing decisions involving overtime, call-ins, and changing needs based on patient census and acuity.

  • Communicate important operational information to hospital administration, department managers, and incoming leadership to support smooth shift transitions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.

  • Current ACLS certification required.

  • Current PALS certification required.

  • Current TNCC certification required.

  • Current ENPC certification required.

  • At least two years of clinical nursing experience required.

  • Two years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

  • Strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies and other high-stress situations.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting patients, staff, and hospital operations.

What to Expect in This Role:

This is an on-site hospital leadership position requiring an active presence throughout assigned shifts. The House Supervisor works across patient care areas and hospital departments and must be prepared to respond quickly to changing patient needs, staffing challenges, emergencies, and operational priorities.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Make an impact on patient care and hospital operations across multiple departments.

  • Use both your clinical nursing expertise and leadership skills in a highly collaborative role.

  • Be a trusted resource for nurses and other healthcare professionals throughout the hospital.

  • Help teams navigate complex situations while promoting safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

  • Play an important role in patient flow, staffing, quality, and hospital-wide coordination.
