This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), responsible for driving organizational excellence in quality, patient safety, and regulatory performance across Sovah Health Danville and Sovah Health Martinsville. The Director will lead strategic initiatives focused on achieving key performance goals related to Leapfrog, CMS, Joint Commission standards, HHI measures, and other quality metrics.

The Director will lead and develop a team of 10 quality professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while ensuring the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance across both facilities.

How you’ll contribute

A Market Director Quality who excels in this role:

  • Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,
    administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
  • Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
  • Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
  • Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

What we’re looking for

Applicants must have an associate's degree in a medical field.

Additional requirements include:

  • Previous Quality Manager or Director-level experience overseeing quality, patient safety, and performance improvement programs in an acute care setting preferred.

  • Proven success leading quality improvement initiatives and achieving CMS, Leapfrog, and other quality performance metrics.

  • Experience with Joint Commission survey readiness, accreditation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong analytical, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills with a focus on improving patient outcomes.

Salary range: $111,300.80 – 150,238.40 annually
