RN PRN

Renders nursing care to patients in the pre-procedure area, procedure room, recovery room in terms of individual needs, according to standard techniques and established policies and procedures. Works cooperatively with physicians and other staff members

Job Relationships:
A. Responsible to Nurse Manager
B. Assignments received from Nurse Manager
C. Positions Supervised: LPNs, Endoscopy Technicians, Medical Assistants

Core Processes and Activities:

A summary of the major job duties include the following. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, as needed and may change over time.

1. Provides patient care in the Endoscopy Center under the direction of the RNs and the physicians.
2. Oversees LPNs and reviews documentation in the EMR.
3. Practices effective interpersonal communication skills.
4. Maintains clinical and professional competency according to policy, procedure, and protocols and as appropriate for the ages of patients served.
5. Performs job duties in compliance with established safety and infection control standards.
