Plans, organizes, and supervises staff and activities for the assigned area. Recommends innovations in the practice and function of services to the Director and carries out mutually agreed upon programs.
- Coordinates activities and operations of the assigned areas of responsibility
- Directs and oversees the services and staff of the assigned areas to assure effective daily operations
- Assures the continued delivery of quality and cost-effective services
- Trends supplemental staffing usage and provides analysis and recommendations based on productivity
- Oversees department programs and initiatives to assure compliance, optimization, and continuous improvement
- Provides essential direction to assure effective day-to-day operations
- Coordinates activities to ensure operation within budgeted parameters
- Monitors and adjusts staffing assignments based on priority, staffing standards, needs of the unit or area, and competency of staff
- Monitors staff activities to ensure compliance with Memorial policies and procedures, regulatory and accreditation agencies
- Performs interviews, hires, and employment actions
- Coaches team members in accountability and identifies opportunities for improvement
- Empowers the staff to make clinical and process decisions
- Performs performance appraisal process for staff
Education:
- Associate's Degree
- Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience:
- 3
- Clinical nursing experience
- In a hospital setting with staffing or operational management experience preferred
Skills:
- Advanced skills in multitasking, time-management, and organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
