- Perform engineering design including horizontal alignments, vertical alignments, 3D modeling and cross-sections, pavement design, and temporary traffic control plans, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Preparing of project documentation including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Package, Design Variations and Exceptions, Estimated Quantity Reports, and Project Meeting minutes.
- Assist Project Managers and Senior Engineers with roadway design task production and maintaining project documentation.
- Conduct engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks including collection and analysis of data
- Perform routine calculations and participate in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Must possess Fundamentals of Engineering (EI) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
- 0 - 4 years of transportation design experience.
- Familiarity with NCDOT production procedures is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Bentley’s MicroStation and Open Roads Designer preferred.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
