Robotics-AI Engineer
We are seeking a forward-looking Robotics-AI engineer who is passionate about developing robotics and autonomy technologies for real-world challenges, to join our team. In this role, you will develop, integrate and deploy AI-driven autonomy capabilities that enable autonomous platforms to operate effectively in complex, multi-domain, unstructured environments. You will work across areas such as robot perception, autonomous navigation, multi-robot and swarm coordination and learning-based robotics, translating research into robust solutions for the real-world applications.
You will have the opportunity to design algorithms, build and test robotics systems, conduct field experiments and collaborate closely with specialists in robotics, AI and systems engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop capabilities in areas such as perception, localisation, mapping, navigation and mission autonomy
- Explore and apply AI (deep learning, reinforcement learning and foundation-model-based approaches) to robotics problems
- Lead software & hardware integration, ensuring seamless operation of robotic systems. Conduct comprehensive testing, from simulations to field trials, both locally and internationally.
- Analyse autonomy stack and algorithm performance and improve robustness, reliability and real-time performance of autonomous behaviours.
- Collaborate with leading researchers globally, translating research breakthroughs into deployable robotics capabilities.
- Degree/Masters in Robotics, AI, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience in robotics development, including both software and hardware integration. Experience with robotics frameworks such as ROS 2 and simulation platforms.
- Strong programming skills preferably python and/or C++
- Experience deploying algorithms on real robotics platforms is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- An eager learner who is curious and passionate about tackling open-ended autonomy problems.
