Robotics Software Engineer – Autonomous Vehicles
About the role
You will work across the autonomy stack and the vehicles it runs on. Part of your time is software development, part is hands-on at the vehicle. This is not a safety driver role; our Autonomous Safety Drivers handle in-vehicle supervision and you will work closely with them.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain C++ and Python across the autonomy stack: perception, detection and tracking, prediction, localization and mapping, planning and control, and the tooling around them
- Help to build new maps of the environment to allow vehicles to operate in unknown areas, and create new driving routes to allow the vehicles to perform their duties
- Calibrate and validate the sensor suite across LiDAR, cameras and GNSS/INS
- Train, evaluate and deploy machine learning models onto vehicle compute
- Troubleshoot and overcome driving issues in software and hardware to keep vehicles moving
- Support the commissioning of new vehicles and new operating sites
- Travel to support deployments across Asia, Europe and North America
About you
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in STEM field, preferably Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent level of expertise from industry
- 2 or more years writing C++ and Python code for production systems
- Experience with Linux operating systems including Linux file systems, bash scripting, git, etc.
- A full driving licence valid in Singapore, and the ability to travel internationally, specifically to the USA, UK and EU countries
- Eligibility to work in Singapore
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly on faults that resist reproduction
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and engage with interested parties and project stakeholders
- A collaborative work ethic to drive solutions alongside the Autonomous Safety Driver and other members of the Vehicle Deployment Team
