Robotics Software Engineer
Salary: £48,000 - 88,000 per year
Requirements:- 3+ years of experience in an industry software design position
- A degree or masters in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Strong commercial experience with modern C++ (C++11–20) and Linux
- Experience with performance testing, profiling, and software optimisation
- Experience with databases, ideally PostgreSQL, and data-driven software systems
- Experience with robotics software development and integration; ROS2 experience is beneficial
- Design, develop, and optimise modern C++ software for robotic platforms, focusing on fleet control, data acquisition, and performance monitoring
- Develop real-time data pipelines to capture, aggregate, transfer, and analyse robotic system data
- Identify and integrate fleet management frameworks such as Open RMF to support autonomous robot scheduling
- Collaborate with robotics, vision, machine learning, mechanical, and electronics teams within an Agile development environment
- Test, debug, and validate software performance, reliability, and deployment readiness
