Robotics Software Engineer
Summary
Software engineer on the R&D team of an early-stage robotics company, working across the robotics stack — motion planning, perception, ML pipelines, firmware, and cloud — to build and deploy AI-driven robots in customer facilities. Core tech is Python, with Docker/Kubernetes, ROS, and some TypeScript/React.
About the Role
Join the R&D team at an early-stage robotics company building software for AI-driven robots in production environments. You will work across the robotics stack to improve systems that perform real-world tasks in customer facilities.
What You'll Do
Coordinate real-time robot software, motion planning optimization, and machine learning pipelines across multiple platforms.
Build and maintain data-labeling interfaces, perception systems, and compilers for robotic applications.
Work across firmware, robotics software, and cloud infrastructure to address high-priority technical challenges.
Collaborate with teammates to design, develop, and ship integrated robotics systems.
Deploy software in customer facilities and improve performance based on real-world operation.
What We're Looking For
One to three years of software engineering experience in robotics, automation, or embedded systems.
Production experience building and shipping software for physical robotic systems, such as robot arms, manipulation systems, or autonomous hardware.
Strong programming fundamentals and Python proficiency; experience with TypeScript and React is a plus.
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, systemd, ROS, motion planning, or robot optimization is beneficial.
Experience integrating hardware and software and understanding full-system robotics.
A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, robotics, or a related engineering field.
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership and comfort working in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.
