Job Summary
- This role is responsible for providing technical assistance in ensuring efficient payroll transactions. It also focuses on supporting the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of monthly payroll for HP Romania, while contributing to continuous process improvement and payroll excellence across the European Payroll team.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and on-time monthly payroll for HP Romania in compliance with local legal and company policies. (1600 employees)
- Manage key payroll cycle activities including interface monitoring, payroll input, payroll execution, controls and corrections, and post-payroll tasks including statutory filing.
- Provides excellent customer service to employees by responding to payroll inquiries with timely and accurate responses.
- Strictly meet all SOX procedures and control framework.
- Solves difficult and complex problems with a fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions and managing projects independently.
- Leads moderate to high complexity projects, delivering professionally written reports, and supports the delivery of operational and strategic plans.
- Seek for continuous process improvement & automation, explore AI to drive task execution efficiency
- Partner effectively with local and global stakeholders, including HR, Controllership, Payroll Accounting, IT, and the external payroll provider
- Support payroll audit and compliance inquiries by preparing documentation, explaining payroll outputs, reconciling data, and coordinating with payroll leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain and improve Romania payroll process documentation
Education & Experience Recommended
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in payroll/HR administration, payroll processing, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong payroll administration and payroll processing skills
- Experience with SAP Payroll or ADP Global View is highly desired.
- Understanding of Romania payroll regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Experience with Workday HCM and PECI interface is a plus
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
- Structured and rigorous; efficiently using collaboration tools such as Teams.
- Fluent in Romanian and English.
- Digital skills are a plus (AI, Intelligent Automation, PowerBI).
For candidates based in Poland, the base pay range for this role is 108,050 PLN to 163,800 PLN annually with additional cash compensation opportunities in the form of annual cash incentive bonuses. Pay varies by job-related skills, effort, responsibility, working conditions, experience and work location.
