Roof Consultant- Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The ROOF CONSULTANT / PROJECT MANAGER will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections on existing commercial roofs and properties, ensuring compliance with industry standards, roof system overviews, detailed analysis, and determination of deficiencies. This individual would also be responsible for the development of specifications, drawings, and project management. The position requires frequent travel to job sites nationwide, collaboration with customer service teams, project managers, and building representatives to deliver detailed inspection reports, and quality roofing projects to our clients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. CONDUCT roof inspections on existing commercial properties.

2. PROVIDE detailed reports on the following: Roofing age, roofing type, overview of roof, deficiencies within the roof system, budgeted numbers for repair/ replacement.

3. IDENTIFY potential issues or defects and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

4. COLLABORATE with project managers, customer service representatives, and onsite teams to conduct inspections.

5. PROVIDE detailed specifications and drawings for reroof and recover projects.

6. IDENTIFY best options for upcoming roofing projects through field investigations and inspections.

7. REMAIN updated on industry standards and certifications relevant to roofing and construction quality.

8. PERFORMS OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Knowledge in roofing, construction, and design.

· Knowledge of various roofing systems (e.g., TPO, PVC, Mod-Bit, BUR, Shingles, Metal).

· Familiarity with industry standards, including NRCA, OSHA, and local building codes.

· Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and travel frequently to job sites.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with project teams and preparing reports.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, inspection software, SpecPoint, CAD, Salesforce.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent

One (1) year of experience in consulting, related to project management, design, or field work OR

Five (5) years of experience in roofing construction industry

Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record

Registered Roof Observer Certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of starting employment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Registered Roof Consultant Certification

Registered Waterproofing Consultant

Registered Exterior Wall Consultant

Registered Building Enclosure Consultant

Certified in capacitance surveys, IR scans, safety inspections

Knowledge in paving and building envelope.

Four (4) years Experience in the Roof Consulting Industry

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must pass a criminal background check

Must have a valid driver’s license

Must have and maintain a good driving record

Must pass preemployment drug screening

WORK CONDITIONS:

Works in a heated and cooled office environment

May be exposed to extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, sun etc. when visiting job sites

This is a safety sensitive position due to driving requirements or job responsibilities whole include safety-sensitive tasks that require performing duties fraught with risk of injury to others where even a momentary lapse of attention may have grave and disastrous consequences.
