Roofing Service Manager (71609)
Valcourt Exterior Building Services is seeking an experienced, leadership-driven Roofing Service Manager to oversee our commercial roofing service and repair division.
This position is responsible for managing daily service operations, leading and developing service technicians, estimating repair work, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring the department meets its safety, quality, revenue, and profitability goals.
The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of commercial roofing systems, strong operational and estimating experience, and a proven ability to lead a profitable service team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Team Leadership
- Direct, schedule, and dispatch roofing service crews and technicians to maximize productivity, response times, and customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop service department personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations, safety meetings, and ongoing technical training.
- Monitor daily workloads and ensure service calls, emergency repairs, and preventative maintenance projects are completed on schedule.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, fall-protection standards, company safety policies, and job-site procedures.
- Manage service tools, equipment, materials, inventory, and vehicle maintenance.
Inspections, Estimating, and Sales
- Conduct commercial roof inspections and accurately identify leaks, damage, and required repairs.
- Prepare detailed estimates, scopes of work, proposals, and pricing for repair projects and preventative maintenance agreements.
- Review service tickets, technician reports, labor hours, materials, and job-site photos for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify opportunities for additional repair work, maintenance programs, and long-term service agreements.
- Partner with sales and operations teams to support business development and customer retention.
Customer Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for property managers, facility managers, building owners, and other service customers.
- Respond promptly to emergency leak calls, warranty requests, and customer concerns.
- Resolve service issues professionally while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Build long-term partnerships that generate repeat business and maintenance contract renewals.
- Ensure customers receive timely updates regarding scheduling, job progress, findings, and completed work.
Financial Performance
- Manage service department revenue, labor costs, material margins, job profitability, and operating expenses.
- Review and approve technician timesheets, purchase orders, service tickets, and completed work.
- Ensure service documentation is complete and submitted promptly for invoicing.
- Monitor department performance using financial reports, operational metrics, and key performance indicators.
