Job Summary:

The Rover Utility Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout assigned facilities by moving (“roving”) between designated areas as needed. This role supports day-to-day operations by responding to cleaning needs, special requests, and high-traffic areas, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and clients.

Pay: $20.00 an hour

  • Perform routine and non-routine cleaning tasks across multiple areas or buildings
  • Clean restrooms, offices, common areas, break rooms, hallways, and entryways
  • Empty trash, recycle materials, and replace liners
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and spot-clean floors as needed
  • Perform basic floor care tasks, including buffing, polishing, and maintaining various floor types
  • Assist with deep floor cleaning projects as assigned (scrubbing, stripping, waxing preferred)
  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and sanitizer
  • Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or urgent cleaning requests
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces following safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Operate cleaning equipment and tools safely and properly
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and cleaning protocols
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior janitorial or custodial experience required
  • Working knowledge of floor care procedures, including buffing and polishing
  • Experience using floor care equipment (e.g., buffers, auto-scrubbers) is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and physical tasks throughout shift
  • Comfortable working on feet for extended periods

Work Environment

  • Commercial or institutional facilities
  • Fast-paced and changing cleaning needs
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals (PPE provided)

Schedule

  • Flexible schedule, may include evenings, weekends, or holidays
