RPG Software Developer

Summary

Maintain and modernize IBM i (AS/400) RPG applications for business-critical systems using ILE, SQL, CLP, and IBM i OS tools.

Salary: £60,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Commercial experience developing IBM i / RPG applications.
  • Experience maintaining and modernising business-critical applications.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
  • RPG experience across multiple versions, including legacy and modern RPG.
  • ILE.
  • SQL.
  • CLP.
  • IBM i OS.
  • Query 400 and DFU.
  • Experience using an IDE such as VS Code or RDI.
Responsibilities:
  • We develop, enhance, test and support applications for a wide range of customer projects.
  • We analyse business requirements and design effective software solutions.
  • We produce technical documentation for new developments and application enhancements.
  • We build a strong understanding of client business processes and application landscapes to provide effective long-term support.
  • We manage software changes from requirements gathering through to implementation.
  • We deliver training and knowledge transfer to customers where appropriate.
