What you’ll do:
The Brass Tacks
Manages all aspects of the reservations, housekeeping, outsides services, and recreation department.
Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training and scheduling applicable departments.
Ensures adequate coverage during all operational hours.
Operates the PBX equipment by answering incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls and paging guests in accordance with established standards.
Responds to inquiries and assists guests in making reservations for all facets of the operation, including, but not limited to lodging, dining, recreation, etc.
Assists the Sales and Marketing Team by entering group bookings and VIP reservations.
Receives sorts and distributes guest mail, messages and faxes.
Maintains confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Keeps accurate and complete records of reservations, messages and other required information.
Assists fellow team members when possible and appropriate.
Brings the departments shift to a sense of finality
Adjusts rate specials and discrepancies
The Nitty Gritty
2+ years previous experience managing operations
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Strong working knowledge of hotel front office, housekeeping operations and accounting procedures.
Strong working knowledge of the hotel’s property management and point of sale systems.
Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Financial management skills, including budget management, expense control and analysis of Profit and Loss statements.
Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling and relationship-building.
