Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Projects broker to move into a role with our Sale & Purchase team in Singapore. The role will focus on developing and executing charter-backed asset transactions across the secondhand and newbuilding space, acting as a trusted intermediary between shipowners and charterers across all shipping segments.
You will have a successful track record of executing large-scale charter-backed asset transactions for major charterers and shipowners, broad industry contacts and be commercially focused.
What you’ll be doing
- Create and build on existing relationships with major charterers and shipowners to enable business with Clarksons’ clients;
- Identify and develop long-term charter projects involving newbuilding and secondhand transactions by linking shipowners, charterers, and financiers;
- Evaluate, validate, and structure long-term shipping strategies for project execution with major clients;
- Advise clients on market conditions, chartering strategies, vessel employment opportunities, and risk considerations;
- Manage and provide support to the analyst team and take responsibility for information flow to major clients;
- Present market updates and business proposals to clients;
- Respond to client enquiries, follow-up requests and ad hoc requests from colleagues and clients;
- Provide support to colleagues to evaluate the financial viability of newbuilding & other projects;
- Maintain an active pipeline, and support the development of, new business opportunities;
- Work closely with colleagues across all chartering departments, Research, and other business areas to maximise client opportunities;
- Continuously develop market knowledge and stay informed of industry developments and emerging opportunities;
- Travel internationally to develop client relationships & deal flow;
- Additional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Other requirements
- Previous experience or exposure of S&P projects broking would be advantageous, with at least 5 years' experience
- Prior experience working in a global multinational company (MNC) is advantageous
- Proven track record of building strong working relationships with clients and develop new business
- Strong understanding of investment and finance fundamentals, including key financial evaluation metrics
- Ability to structure a narrative around topics identified as important for client base, with supporting analysis, evidence and considerations
- Ability to communicate data and information in a clear, engaging and commercially compelling way
- A self-starter, highly motivated to develop your own business with the full support of Clarksons
- Personable, approachable and collaborative, with the ability to build effective relationships, leverage internal expertise and support positive client outcomes.
