Summary
Trains and coaches child-welfare staff in the SafeCare parenting model, ensuring adherence to curriculum standards and state requirements through on-site visits and documentation reviews.
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Hours: 8-hour days; 40-hour week: includes evenings and weekends
Definition: Provides coaching to Family Preservation Services/NorthCare employees to ensure fidelity to the SafeCare model.
Supervisor: Position is supervised by Family Preservation Services Leadership.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Receives and maintains National SafeCare Coach Certification.
- Ensures Family Preservation teams/providers meet and maintain fidelity to the SafeCare curriculum and implement modules as required by national accreditation and state standards for Health, Safety, Parent-Child Interaction, Parent-Infant interaction, Managing Child Behavior and Healthy Relationship modules.
- Promotes a warm and engaging organizational culture in line with NorthCare values, trauma informed care, and health and wellness.
- Ensures all new employees implementing SafeCare meet criteria for certification established through National SafeCare Training and Research Center (NSTRC) within the first year of employment.
- Reviews SafeCare documentation and provides certificates to Family Preservation team members for completion of modules.
- Accompanies employees on home visits and provides coaching via modeling, feedback and consultation as required based on NSTRC coaching fidelity requirements.
- Formally meets monthly with leadership members to provide information, consultation and feedback about progress in coaching.
- Attends training and meetings required by NorthCare and OUHSC to include team meetings and Trainer/Coaches monthly meetings.
- Submits required monthly reports to leadership and submits observation documentation into the SafeCare portal.
- Assists with intakes, providing coverage while team members are out of office, and supporting caseloads/cases as needed.
- Attends all NorthCare and program specific meetings and trainings as required.
- Works a flexible 40 hours work week schedule to accommodate needs of families, providers and community partners. Utilizes the outlook calendar to include all meetings, responsibilities and appointments for the week.
- Maintains consistent work attendance and contact supervisor on timely basis for needed late arrivals or absences.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned by the Program Manager, Director and/or executive management.
